I just saw that there is a luthier's pavilion at the Father's Day Bluegrass Festival in Grass Valley, California this weekend. Any of you local CA peeps going to be there?

It's an hour from my house. I think I'm going to bundle the kids up there on Sunday. Should be fun.

Alan.. I'd love to hear a report (photos?)

I see Uncle Earl on the program. I'll be hangin' with them at the Indiana Fiddlers' Fest next weekend.

Geoff - great time had by all. Saw James King Band, Doyle Lawson & Mountain Laurel before the kids realized they had had enough banjo for one day.
Weather was perfect, people were very friendly: one of the security guards saw me herding my 2 & 4 year olds toward the gate and gave me an admission wrist band as a Father's Day gift. Very cool.
Sorry no pics, got out of the house without the camera. The one I would have posted was the perspective from laying on the ground looking up into the 150'+ Jeffrey pines. Nice.

I was selling at the Luthiers Pavilion and had a very successful festival (I sold the notorious "Dovetail Madness"). There was a lot of good music (although I am kinda looking forward to having that banjo-like ringing in my ears fade away). The act that really tickled me was "Kids on Bluegrass," a big band with an ever-changing lineup of kids from about 4 to 14 whose playing and singing would make you want to hang up your instrument,

So Alan, why didn't you say hello?

Howard - congrats on the sale! I admired the dovetail guitar but dind't realize it had just been sold! Success!

I came by your booth twice - first time you were busy with someone and second time the kids couldn't keep their hands to themselves - I was worried I was going to HAVE to buy a broken guitar!

I was the one carrying the little blonde 2 year-old girl and the 4 year-old boy trying to pick up one of those double-basses next to your table!
